Slam Ent: What is your name? Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Ailawishes: My name is Ailawishes and I was born and raised in a Alabama. After graduating highschool and finishing my first degree in college, I moved to Atlanta where I got really deep into the music scene. I decided to become an artist or a songwriter because I’ve always had a creative mind. When I was in highschool, I would always write hiphop lyrics. My musical influence back then was Mc Lyte. I had every album, every magazine and poster that hit the shelves with her name on it. I was so shy that I never really did anything with them but decided to write my first screne play in college entitled “Ex-boyfriend”. It caught the attention of Soul Food actor Brandon Hammond who wanted to put it into production. Having an actor admire my work is what really fueled me to do more
Slam Ent: How did you come up with your Stage name?
Ailawishes: My stage name is very unique. Several people struggle with pronouncing it but its very simple Ailawishes (Ala-wishes) Ala is where I was born. Alabama and “wishes”, I’ve always been ambitious and driven. I’m always wishing and making my dreams come true.
Slam Ent: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration?
Ailawishes: My songwriting inspiration comes from real life situations. Most of my writing whether books or music are about relationships and love. A large percentages of the stories told through my writing are true. It will always be an experience of mine or that of a close friend. Yes, my friends are aware that I use the real life situations. lol They love it infact. In order to write the perfect verse, I have to be locked in a room alone to really focus and balance each out each piece of the song.

Ailawishes: Currently, I’m working out of random studios but I am also in the process of building my own. I frequent the studios of Jermaine Dupri and other artist where I utilize their space in order to write for my artists.
Slam Ent: Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

We haven’t 100% confirmed her as yet but I am working with her trying to help with her sound so that we can make some big moves in 2016. I don’t want to say exactly who it is as of yet but soon, she will be revealed.
Slam Ent: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
