Exclusive Interview With Fucking People

Fucking People

Slam Entertainment Caught Up with Fucking People, They are a Band From Chile. Checkout what they have to say in Their Interview Below:

Slam Ent: What is your name? Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

Fucking People: Our band is called “Fucking People”; we are Jepsser and Ed and we are brothers. We grew up in Peñalolén that is a suburb in Santiago, Chile. It is a small place that’s divide between bureaucracy /working class (we clearly come from this latter part); we grew very close to music since we were little and were influenced by Los Prisioneros (a huge Chilean band), social criticism, and lack of opportunity from not coming from a high expectations’’ lineage. Somehow, we feel artists as we have the “talent” to make songs, to give our life and feelings to our songs in the hope of making people happy.

Slam Ent: How did you come up with your Stage name?

Fucking People: We are two brothers with a 5 year age difference and were born in a country that has separated people between those who were born before democracy; under the oppression of a coupe d’ etat and those born in democracy and corruption. Since very early on we realised that people had lost the sense of humanity so we concluded that if we had a band, we would send this message for people not to forget. That is why we are called “Fucking people”

Slam Ent: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration?

Fucking People: Generally we both compose so each one comes up with ideas that we then produce mutually and together whether this is the music or the lyrics of a song. Just like our first EP “Al Abordaje” (“On-board”); whose 5 songs were created within the recording process, more or less improvised or made on the spot along a production work of 2 musicians with no formal studies in music.

Slam Ent: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?

Fucking People: To be honest, we don’t look for or plan on studying anything or upgrading our resources. Truth is, we live in a situation where money is scarce and we are providers so we can’t really afford the luxury to study or upgrade anything; being this sound, production, composition or anything that facilitates our creation processes. We are, however, not “closed” to the possibility of this happening. Even without financial resources or formal musical studies, we have put a lot of effort into continuously improving our work.

We keep creating new songs for future EPs and also introducing ourselves within our circle of Chilean bands, trying to generate a message and a new proposal in the collective consciousness; we wish for this 2016 to be a year full of instances to present tour Project as we are used to do shows with electronic instruments and a lot of movement (the idea is to keep the audience amazed and thirsty for more) but we also turn our shows into acoustic sessions that are a lot more intimate; we keep on rehearsing so we are not only 2 members. For now, we would like the band to have drums and a bass when playing live so the show is more widely received.

Slam Ent: Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Fucking People: The first thing we would like to talk about is audio visual material for the songs included in “Al Abordaje” because we feel that without the support of video clips, the EP cannot appropriately close its circle.

We are working on the creation of 2 EPs that will be a real challenge and a musical advance since “Fucking People” is not about to maintain a musical style to play cords for people to find them pleasant. We can only say that one of them is going to be called “Siguebailando” (Keep on dancing”

Slam Ent: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

Fucking People: Many, many shows! We want this year to be full of gigs and concerts for “Fucking People”, we want people to anxiously want to see us live. We really promise a show that you see and then can’t wait to see us again; we are not egocentric but for us, music is a job, the aesthetics and style that we present to people is another job and make people jump and dance until they sweat is a really hard job to do on stage. We rejoice in doing what we love for people who are fans of our work.
