It’s been more than two decades since The Notorious B.I.G. a.k.a. Biggie Smalls was killed, but the case has never been solved. Now, a new theory may have arisen following Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ex-bodyguard Gene Deal’s phone conversation with rapper Mase.
In an episode of his YouTube show, Gene Deal made a shocking claim that rapper Mase might have been involved in the murder of the “Mo Money Mo Problems” hitmaker. Mase then called into Gene’s YouTube show, calling him a liar.Mase went on to say that Gene used to be an upstanding guy, but now he’s lying for ratings and YouTube clicks.
Gene Deal, who was with Diddy the night Biggie got shot and killed, confronted Mase about his alleged suspicious behavior that night. The former bodyguard asked the 44-year-old rapper why he did not go to the party and hang with Biggie and Diddy, suggesting that Mase might know there was going to be a shooting so he stayed away from it.
Mase claimed that he was in a hotel room with R&B singer Brandy, whom he was dating at the time but Gene refused to believe him and claimed Rapper Mase previously told him that Brandy wanted to go to the party, but it was Mase who didn’t want to go.
They continued to go back and forth until Mase got heated up and hung up the phone.
The Notorious B.I.G. was sprayed with multiple bullets in the shooting on early March 9, 1997. He was rushed him to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, but he was pronounced dead at 1:15 A.M. The Notorious B.I.G. was 24 years old.
The shooter, who was described as an African-American man dressed in a blue suit and bow tie, was never arrested. In 2006, Greg Kading, a retired LAPD detective alleged that The Notorious B.I.G. was shot by Wardell “Poochie” Fouse, an associate of Suge Knight, who died on July 24. Greg Kading suggested that Suge Knighthired Poochie to kill Biggie to avenge the death of Tupac Shakur, who, Greg believed, was killed under the orders of Diddy.
